About Us
History:
Kendall Hill Nursery was established in 1998 when Kathy Sharp, the owner, purchased two adjoining nurseries. One of the nurseries was a 50 acre shrub nursery and the other was a 200 acre shade and ornamental tree nursery. Since then, we have more than doubled in size to 700 contiguous acres.
Nearly 300 acres of trees are watered by an in-line drip irrigation system which is fed by an 8-acre lake. Tree holding areas provide drip irrigation and fertilization to balled and burlap wrapped trees awaiting pickup or delivery. In addition, all our container materials are watered and fertilized through drip irrigation to ensure their premium condition.

The mission of Kendall Hill Nursery is to grow high quality shade trees, ornamentals, evergreens, and deciduous & broadleaf evergreen shrubs for the wholesale landscape trade.

Kathy Sharp, Owner
Kathy established the Nursery in 1998 with a small crew, a beautiful piece of property and a penchant for success. Since then, Kathy has focused on assembling a knowledgeable staff that are both dedicated and share her business philosophy. She is committed to the ongoing education of her staff, constantly seeking improved methods of production and efficiency. Kathy is held in the highest regards both professionally and within her community as a business woman of honesty and integrity.
Dennis Rohr, Grower
Dennis has been in the industry for sixteen years and has a degree in horticulture. He is very knowledgeable in the many different facets of nursery production and what is required to produce a quality plant for our customers. Dennis is also active in many trade associations. He has served on the IPPS local committees, gives talks to the group of fellow propagators, past president of the Ornamental Growers Association and also has worked closely with the Chicagoland Grows plant introductions group.
Allison Boyd, Inventory Manager
Allison has the responsibility of tagging all customer orders, a job she takes very seriously. She has a retail backgound in the green industry and understands the importance of ensuring customer satisfaction and therefore treats each job with careful consideration. In addition, she maintains the inventory for 590 acres of plant material. As with any company there is the potential to wear many hats and Allison does not shy away from doing just that. From loading trucks to working on our latest catalog, to giving Nursery tours, She is eager to help out whenever she can.
Mario Caballero, Production Superintendent
Mario has been with Kendall Hill Nursery since the start in 1998 and has a total of 16 years in the Industry. Keeping production in pace with sales is always a challenge and has proved to be one of the many talents Mario possesses. Along with supervising the crews in all aspects of the day to day operation, Mario has an obsession for weed free fields, thereby keeping the Nursery in pristine condition. This along with his inventive nature and dedication to the success of the business make him an invaluable asset.
Joshua Franz, Sales Representative
One of the ways a Nursery sets itself apart is with its knowledge and customer service. Our latest team member understands our commitment to be the best when it comes to servicing our customers. Joshua has an extensive arboricultural background in the private sector, working primarily with commercial and municipal clients all over the country.
