Burning Bush

Burning BushKendall Hill Nursery grows and offers the Burning Bush, or Euonymus alatus ‘Compactus’,. The Burning Bush is a deciduous shrub that is very hardy and excellent in urban areas. It grows slowly maturing to 10’ tall and 10’wide. It has an upright vase growth habit in its youth then spreads wider as it ages. Its leaves are medium to dark green in the summer which then dramatically shifts to a brilliant flaming red creating a stunning visual display. The Burning Bush thrives in full sun to full shade and prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soils, but is very adaptable to poor soils, compacted soils, various soil pHs, heat, drought, and pollution tolerant.
