Black Hills Spruce
Kendall Hill Nursery grows and offers the Black Hills Spruce, or Picea Glauca var. Densata. The Black Hills Spruce is a large evergreen that is native to South Dakota. It is very dense and pyramidal when young. This tree has dense, brilliant bright green needles that sometimes have a hint of blue. Often used by landscapers to create windbreaks, the Black Hills Spruce is considered an ornamental evergreen. The Black Hills Spruce has a mature height of 30’-60’ with a 15’-25’ spread. It can be successfully grown in Zones 2-6.
