Serbian Spruce

Serbian SpruceKendall Hill offers Serbian Spruce, or Picea Omorika. Serbian Spruce trees are often used as an ornamental tree in large gardens. It is valued in North America for its very attractive crown form and ability to grow on a wide range of soils, including alkaline, clay, acid and sandy soil, although it prefers moist, drained loam. Good as a screen or a stately accent for smaller spaces. No serious insect or disease problems. The Serbian Spruce is a graceful tree that is known for its thin arching branches and its straight and slender trunk. The needles range from light green to a darker blue green. It also has colorful half-inch cones that range from purple to a deep cinnamon color. The Serbian Spruce prefers to be planted in deep soil that is well drained and it tolerates partial shade to full sun and has no serious insect or disease problems. It can be successfully grown in Zones 4 to 7.
