Kentucky Coffeetree

Kentucky CoffeetreeKendall Hill Nursery grows and offers the Kentucky Coffeetree, or gymnocladus dioicus. This tree is a moderately fast-growing tree that has a uniform and elevated shade canopy. The Kentucky Coffeetree is known for its year-round beauty with a wide range of color shifts through the seasons changing from a pinkish color to a dark, almost blue green. It’s coarse branches rise up into a narrow crown. It is a great urban tree with a high degree of salt tolerance making it suitable for heavy traffic, commercial, and residential applications. Kentucky Coffeetrees tolerate most conditions, including drought and pollution, very well. The Kentucky Coffeetree matures at a height of 60’-75’ with a 45’ spread, needs full sun and grows well in zones 3-8.
